Big Wheel Jazz Quartet will kick-off the day for us in The Fine Leg Tavern

The day officially kicks-off at 2pm, when the bar and BBQ will roll into action and The Big Wheel Jazz Quartet will introduce us to new and exciting singing sensation Astra Sirbon at The Fine Leg Tavern.

Here's a rough idea of the timetable for the day:

  • Big Wheel Jazz Quartet - 2pm
  • Ilea Cavner - 5.15pm
  • Mocking Jay - 6pm
  • The Red Barrows - 6.30pm
  • Velocity - 6.45pm
  • Jack Kenworthy Band - 7.45pm
  • The Locks - 8.45pm
  • The Grigglefish Project - 10.30pm to close

All times are approximate, so please give a little leeway if you're particularly keen to see an individual act.

If you're camping, access to the site will be available from midday; however, there will be plenty of room for everybody, so please avoid the temptation to all turn up at the stroke of twelve... we don't want to bring the entire village to a standstill!

With your wristbands you received full details of the terms & conditions of entry to Fristock 2011. Take a moment to read this document and please make an effort to adhere to the points it contains throughout your time with us, so that we can enjoy the kind of happy, vibrant and, most importantly, safe event that we've all come to expect. Remember, it's not just the entertainers that make the day, the audience plays a vital role too.

We look forward to welcoming you to Fristock on Saturday 9th July!

Warmest regards,

Team Fristock

Wristbands are selling fast - get yours now!

Wristbands are selling fast - get yours now!

This year, there has been a truly jaw-dropping rate of wristband sales. Every time we update our posters to show the latest number sold, they're wildly out-of-date within twenty-four hours and so, despite the fact that we're gearing-up for an even larger event than usual this year, we are still fast-reaching a point where we will have to draw the 2011 sales campaign to a close.

If you're hoping to attend this year's event and haven't yet got around to buying your wristbands PLEASE, DO IT NOW!!

You can only buy a wristband online, you can't gain access to Fristock without one and we are genuinely down to the last hundred or so available... if you don't grab one in the very near future, you won't get to enjoy the fun we're planning this year - which would be a shame, wouldn't it?

To order one of the last wristbands available for Fristock 2011 click on the Fristock Freddy banners or [here].

The final act to be booked this year is local acoustic duo Mocking Jay, who have been singing together since primary school, covering songs currently in the charts as well as classic hits. Georgie and Kay have also written several original songs, one of which, "Circles", received significant airtime on local radio when it was released last summer.

The girls have played at a number of venues locally, including to a packed house at Twinlakes, last Bonfire night. Let's hope it's a little warmer for them at this year's Fristock!

the red barrows ride again!

Look out... they're back!

Look out... they're back!

Where to begin with this lot?

Those of you who survived their previous display of ground-level aerial aerobatics will, no doubt, still be traumatised by the memory of a ghastly collection of near-misses and general garden-implement-based carnage that was so narrowly avoided by this “elite squad of Top Gun performers” (their words) back in 2009.

This year, we’ll be putting a larger exclusion zone around them and making sure that there are plenty of first-aiders and fire extinguishers about the place. Prepare for the white knuckle ride that will undoubtedly be The Red Barrows at Fristock 2011!

Get ready to hear her once again at Fristock 2011.

when to expect your wristbands

Get them now!

We've had a few emails from folks that have ordered their wristbands, asking where they are. Don't worry - they'll be with you well in advance of the 9th July! As is standard practice with most gigs, wristbands will be posted-out to Fristock-goers a couple of weeks before the event. This prevents any problems with wristbands going missing and, to be honest, makes tackling the fairly complex job of despatching so many items somewhat easier by dealing with them all in one go - we're only a small team! In the meantime, after placing their order, customers should receive a confirmatory email from PayPal, which acts as proof of purchase.

On a slightly separate note, we've had a number of orders coming in for junior tickets only. Can we take this opportunity to confirm that all Fristock-goers below the age of eighteen must be accompanied by an adult. If you're unclear on this one, please contact us by [email] before the event.

As in previous years, we reserve the right to prevent entry of any unaccompanied minor - but would much rather not exercise that right on the night!

wristbands are now on sale!

Get them now!

As with last year's event, wristbands will only be available in limited numbers. Additionally, we've made the decision that in 2011 wristbands will only be available online, via the fristock ticket booth.

Fristock 2011 wristbands are sold on a first-come-first-served basis and are available now - click [here] to place your order.

Once you have placed your order, proof of purchase in the form of a PayPal receipt will be forwarded to you by email. Wristbands will be sent out closer to the event - final date tbc but in plenty of time to ensure that you have them on the night.
