fristock 2010 has been and gone!
Huge thanks to those of you who turned-out on Saturday 10th July - we hope you had a great time!
We've uploaded hundreds of photos taken by our resident paparazzo Rob Webber to the new launched gallery area, which you can find [here]. We'll also continue to update the Fristock Facebook page with ongoing snippets of news, so why not become a member today? Find out more by clicking [here].
We look forward to seeing you at Fristock 2011 - the provisional date for next year's event is Saturday July 9th.
All the best,
fristock 2010 is a sold-out event!
SAD TIDINGS FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVEN'T YET BOUGHT YOUR WRISTBANDS FOR FRISTOCK 2010. AFTER A MAJOR SHOPPING FRENZY OVER THE WEEKEND, WE HAVE NOW HIT THE UPPER LIMITS FOR ATTENDANCE AND THE EVENT HAS OFFICIALLY REACHED FULL CAPACITY.
If you do not have wristbands pre-ordered then please, avoid disappointment and do not expect to be able to buy on the gate - stocks will not be available on the night and unfortunately, you will not be allowed entry.
This said, it could well be that we have some last-minute returns from folks who find that they can't attend. If you would like to join our "reserves list", feel free to email us at wristbands@fhrcc.co.uk or call Graham on 01664 434 851.
To those of you who already have wristbands, THANK YOU for such enthusiastic support - we're really looking forward to seeing you on Saturday 10th July.
the timetable for fristock 2010
WE'VE HAD A FEW QUERIES ABOUT WHICH COLOUR WRISTBAND FRISTOCK-GOERS SHOULD BE WEARING. TO CONFIRM, RED IS FOR ADULTS (WELL... THE 18s-AND-OVERS ANYWAY) BLUE IS FOR JUNIORS AND YELLOW IS FOR INFANTS. PLEASE, DON'T MESS THIS ONE UP AS THE SPECTACLE OF GROWN MEN WEARING YELLOW WRISTBANDS AND MILLING AROUND THE PLACE SOBBING GENTLY TO THEMSELVES, HAVING BEEN EJECTED FROM THE BAR OF THE FRISTOCK ARMS IS NOT ONE WE'RE KEEN TO PROMOTE.
This year, to accommodate the number of people we're expecting to see camping, gates will open at 1pm for those wishing to pitch a tent (or a gazebo, if you're a bit posh and fancy that sort of thing). The bar and barbecue will rumble into action at 3pm as sound-checks come to a close and the mighty Fristock PA fires-up. Our first act is expected on-stage at 6pm with sets running up until around 11.45pm. The running order for Fristock 2010 is as follows:
- 6.00pm – The Camarades
- 6.40pm – Remember Belgium
- 7.20pm – Ilea Cavner
- 7.40pm – Skam
- 8.40pm – The Grigglefish Project
- 10.20pm – Sticky Fingers
down to the last 100 wristbands!
IF YOU'RE PLANNING TO ATTEND THIS YEAR'S FRISTOCK, NOW IS THE TIME TO ORDER YOUR WRISTBANDS AS WE'RE DOWN TO THE LAST HUNDRED. ONCE THEY'RE GONE WE WON'T BE SELLING AT THE GATE, SO DON'T DELAY - ORDER YOUR WRISTBANDS TODAY!
Buying your Fristock wristbands online couldn't be easier and it's 100% secure too, as we're working with PayPal to ensure that we're employing industry-leading payment facilities.
To purchase your wristbands, click [here] and simply click the "add to cart" buttons as required. Once you're in the PayPal secure shopping zone, you can change quantities, order further tickets by clicking "continue shopping" and amend/delete tickets where necessary. As soon as you've completed your order PayPal will send you a receipt of purchase and send us your contact details, so that we can send you your wristbands. All pretty straightforward but of course, if you're having any difficulties you can email us at paypal@fhrcc.co.uk or call Andy on 01664 434 426.
line-up complete with show songs!
And finally, the 2010 line-up is completed with another act from the village, in the shape of eleven year old Ilea Cavner. Whilst still in her final year at Frisby Primary School, Ilea is already carving out a career in entertainment with a string of awards to her name that includes the Rotary Club of Great Britain's East Midlands Junior Vocal Champion, amongst others. Ilea will be joining us early evening with a medley of songs from the shows.
mike hendey and friends return!
After a lively reception from the Fristock audience in 2009, we're happy to confirm that Mike Hendey and friends will be performing once again, appearing this year as Remember Belgium. Since we saw them last, the chaps have added an extra guitarist - Arline McKirdy - and have been writing all year to expand their set considerably. Get ready to give Remember Belgium a warm Fristock welcome on the 10th of July.
the line-up grows with Skam!
Adding to the rock vibe that we seem to be putting together this year, we're really excited to the confirm that Leicester band Skam will play fristock 2010. With a playlist that combines both covers and original material, we're looking forward to Steve & Co. getting everybody up and bouncing from the moment they hit the stage. You can find out more about Skam [here].
say hello to The camarades!
The Camarades are a four-piece teenage band from right here in Frisby-on-the-Wreake. They were formerly called ‘Fourtunes Fool’ and some of you will no doubt remember them from last year's event. The Camarades playlist includes covers ranging from The Kings of Leon's ‘Bucket’ to John Lennon's ‘Instant Karma’, whilst their own catalogue of compositions grows as they continue to develop ‘Farmer Girl’ and their more recent track ‘Cold’. Please get ready to welcome Leo Stannard (Vocals, Guitar), Joe Perriam (Guitar), Leah Topham (Bass) and George Hall (Drums, Vocals).
it's The Grigglefish Project!
With a repertoire that ranges from Led Zeppelin classics like "Black Dog" right up to date with a blistering cover of the Sterophonics "Bartender and the Thief", the Grigglefish Project delivers a powerful, accomplished sound that is 100% guaranteed to get an audience on its feet. We're delighted to welcome Ray (lead guitarist of "Panic" who performed back in 2005) Will, Ollie and Tom (aka the eponymous Grigglefish) to Fristock 2010.
Sticky fingers to play Fristock!
If you like the Rolling Stones then you're in for a real treat at Fristock 2010. We're excited to announce that Sticky Fingers will be joining us at this year's event on Saturday 10th July, so order your wristbands today!
